Overview:
Backing up his debut NRL season, Ben Hampton made 11 appearances for Melbourne in 2014.
After playing two matches last year, the young playmaker got a taste of regular first-grade football during the early stages of the season partnering with both Ben Roberts and Cooper Cronk while wearing the number six jersey.
The 22-year old showed promising signs in the opening nine weeks of the season featuring in seven games, on occasion displaying his innate ability to unlock opposition defences.
Hampton spent the latter stages of 2014 playing with Storm’s feeder team Cronulla in the NSW Cup but was called upon in the absence of Cooper Cronk as the Queensland halfback recovered from an arm injury. During that time, Hampton made important strides in Storm victories against the Titans and Eels.
In July Hampton re-signed with the Club, committing to Storm for a further two years.

2014 ‘Moment’:
Hampton’s 2014 ‘moment’ came in Melbourne’s opening game of the year against Manly. Thrown into a cauldron like atmosphere at Brookvale Oval against Storm’s arch rivals, Hampton’s second half try proved critical in his side’s come from behind victory.
