Melbourne Storm has signed experienced front- rower Tom Learoyd-Lahrs to its playing roster for the 2015 season.

Learoyd-Lahrs, 28, will add further depth to Storm’s forward unit, having played 119 first grade games for the Raiders and Broncos over a career spanning nine years.

The former representative player played four Origin matches for NSW in 2009 and 2010, where he was coached by Craig Bellamy, and also donned the Kangaroos jersey on four occasions in 2010.

Storm Football Director Frank Ponissi said the Club was pleased to sign Learoyd-Lahrs.

“Tom is an experienced forward whose skill and size will be a valuable asset to our forwards,” Ponissi said.

“While he has been restricted due to injury over the last 12 months, a chat with Craig on what he can bring to Melbourne Storm and after a successful medical screening, we had no hesitation to sign him.”

Learoyd-Lahrs said he was grateful to get another chance at NRL level.

“I'm extremely grateful for the opportunity Melbourne Storm have provided in enabling me to hopefully re-establish my NRL career.

“It will be an honour to have the chance to play with such great players as Melbourne possesses, once I spoke to Craig, I knew that working under his guidance was the best opportunity for me to get back to playing regular week to week NRL.”
