Melbourne Storm winger Sisa Waqa has been rewarded for his efforts throughout the 2013 season, winning the Petero Civoniceva Medal at Saturday's Australian Fijian Rugby League (AFRL) awards.
Waqa enjoyed a career best season in 2013, scoring 12 tries from 22 games to finish as Melbournes equal second try scorer for the year.
After playing his first game for 2013 in Round 5 against the Tigers, Waqa did not miss a beat for the rest of the year, playing the remainder of Storm's matches for 2013
Along the way, Waqa recorded his 50th first-grade game, before the hard running outside back helped Fiji to a semi-final berth, playing four games during October's Rugby League World Cup.
The Petero Civoniceva Medal is awarded to the Australian Fijian Rugby League's Player of the Year.
Congrats to @WaqaSisa on winning @PetCivo Medal at last nights #AFRL awards, @MountiesRLFC. Awesome season for @storm and @FijiBatiRL.
