The 24-year old originally signed with Storm's feeder club Easts Tigers for the 2014 season and under a relationship between the two club's, spent some time in Melbourne prior to Christmas before earning a full time contract.

Romelo made his first-grade debut back in 2009 with Penrith before later linking up with the Canterbury Bulldogs. The versatile playmaker has played 26 first-grade games since his debut with the Panthers, 23 of them coming between 2010 and 2013 during his time with the Bulldogs.

Speaking to Storm TV, Romelo discussed the high intensity out on the training paddock since joining the club during pre-season.

"The training is definitely a lot different, you can tell why Melbourne are up the top," Romelo said.

"Its all about having a strong mind and a strong body, it sorts out the men from the boys."
