Cody Walker joins Melbourne for the 2014 season following an impressive year in the Queensland Cup with Easts Tigers.

The 23-year old finished 2013 as the Queensland Cups leading point scorer, winning both the competitions player of the year award alongside the Tigers best and fairest.

Walker's strong season with Easts in the Queensland Cup saw him rewarded with a call up to the Queensland Residents side who took on their NSW Cup rivals prior to State of Origin 3.

The playmaker is no stranger to Melbourne having completed a pre-season with the club at the beginning of last season as a part of Storms relationship with the Tigers.

Speaking to Storm TV, the playmaker believes that experience will hold him in good stead in his first season as a part of Melbournes first-grade squad.

I know a lot of the boys and a lot of the coaching staff, I learnt a lot in those two weeks that I was here," said Walker.

Prior to linking up with Queensland Cup outfit Easts Tigers in 2012, Walker spent two seasons with Gold Coasts U20s before a year in the NSW Cup with the Windsor Wolves.
