Heading into the 2017 campaign many expected Cameron Munster to be cemented as Cooper Cronk’s halves partner.

However an NRL season has a habit of not following the script as injuries and the like create more plot twists than a Hollywood blockbuster.

What sets the good players apart is their ability to adapt.

ANZAC Day Blockbuster. Storm v Warriors, 7pm, April 25th. Don’t miss out!

Munster has experienced how injuries to both him and his teammates have shifted plans.

Billy Slater’s delayed start to the season saw the 22-year-old begin the year at fullback before a broken jaw in Round 3 saw him sidelined for three games.

He made his return on the weekend, coming off the bench in Saturday’s win over the Sea Eagles.

Munster admits his earlier-than-expected return from injury did bring with it some nerves.

“I was obviously a bit nervous going in against Manly,” he said.

“I wasn’t too worried about the physical side of things, it was more the mental. I got through it unscathed, mentally I’m fine and can’t wait for next week.”

As for next week, Storm are preparing for their biggest home game of the year, the traditional ANZAC Day blockbuster against the Warriors.

Munster has been named to come off the bench once again but is not entirely sure whether his role will change once again this season.

“I don’t know where I’m playing to be quite honest, I’ll just play where Craig Bellamy wants me to play,” Munster said.

“Ryley Jacks is playing really well in that No.6 position, he is keeping me on my toes.

“It is going to be a hard game against the Warriors on ANZAC Day next week.

“They’ve got Foran and Johnson in the halves, it is going to be a tough game but we are looking forward to it.”
