When Storm take the trip to the Sunshine Coast for their trial match on February 11 Curtis Scott knows what is at stake.

Melbourne will take on the Warriors at Sunshine Coast Stadium in what will be the Club’s first full trial match of the pre-season.

That game will be Scott’s opportunity to stake his claim for a spot in the Storm team that will take the field just three weeks later for Round 1.

“It is going to be really important to hopefully go up there, impress Craig and get a spot for Round 1,” Scott said.

“I’m looking forward to getting up there and playing in the stadium.

“It is a good stadium up there and a good bunch of fans that will hopefully get along to the game and cheer on the boys.”

Scott spent much of the 2016 season playing in the Queensland Cup with Storm’s feeder team the Sunshine Coast Falcons.

The year was one of great development and learning for the talented 19-year-old.

“It was really good, the travel was a little bit hard but that is just what you have to go through,” Scott said.

“When I went up there it was good to play up there with different people, adapt to the conditions and whatever you have to do up there.

“It was good to play against men as well to get that physical side and get ready to play NRL.”
