Storm star Cameron Munster will be making the trip north along with the entire 2017 playing group.

The Club has strong ties with the region through the Under-20s Thunderbolts as well as the newly formed netball team Sunshine Coast Lightning.

Next month's contest, Storm’s first full trial match of the year, will be the perfect opportunity for the local community to get a taste of NRL action.

“We are always excited to go up to Queensland, we’ve got a couple of Queensland players in our team,” Munster said.

“We’ve got our Under-20s based there (on the Sunshine Coast) and of course the Sunshine Coast Lightning there as well. We’ve got a good base up there.”

The game may be a trial, by Storm will be leaving no stone unturned as they look to fine-tune their preparations ahead of the 2017 NRL season.

“Games like this hold us in good stead heading into Round 1.

“There are a lot of Kiwis on the Sunny Coast as well and also in our 20s team. It will be really good to play the Warriors up there.

“We’ve also got a couple of international Kiwis as well in our team so it should be a good-matchup, we are looking forward to it.”
