It has been another gruelling season for Cooper Cronk and Cameron Smith but the star Storm duo have no intentions of slowing down.

Both players have had their training loads managed through the back end of the season following yet another tiresome Origin period.

Be at AAMI Park when we take on the Broncos, Friday 26 August, 7:30pm.

With just two games left to go, the question has been asked whether Smith and/or Cronk will be rested in the lead up to the finals.

However that is certainly not on their radar according to the Storm halfback.

“I am not sure what our performance staff or coaching staff are thinking in terms of the next couple of weeks but it is pretty important that we get some continuity in our performances,” Cronk said.

“Cameron and I really like playing, to continue our performances and continue moving in that trajectory.

“I am not sure about those conversations, maybe there is an opportunity to rest during training.

“We haven’t had those in-depth conversations. It’s only now that we have secured those positions, we might have that today and the next couple of days but as I sit here now, and I’m pretty sure I can speak on behalf of Cameron, we are pretty keen to play.”

Storm will take on the sixth-placed Broncos who have enjoyed a return to form in recent weeks with three straight wins.

Melbourne returned to the winner’s list on Saturday night with an emphatic 38-18 win over Manly at Brookvale Oval.

Suliasi Vunivalu scored four tries to take his tally to 21 – equaling Israel Folau’s record for most tries in a season by a Storm rookie.
