Many teams have tried to breach the purple wall this season, most have been turned back.

In the past two weeks Storm have shown their ability to counter punch, turning defence into attack in the blink of an eye on their way to a four-game winning streak.

Against both the Knights and Roosters, Melbourne began the game on the back foot as plenty of questions were asked of their defence in the opening 15 minutes.

Be at AAMI Park when we take on the Rabbitohs, Saturday 6 August, 7:30pm.

In each game they managed to absorb the pressure before hitting back up the other end. That style of counter attacking football is one the side has enjoyed.

“It gives a lot of confidence to know you can hold a team out for 15-20 minutes on your line and make that many tackles and then go down and score before they do,” Cheyse Blair said.

“It is pretty good and entertaining for the crowd to watch. It gives you a lot of confidence to know we can do it week in, week out.”

Storm must now turn their attention to the toughest road trip in the NRL – taking on the Cowboys in Townsville.

The reigning premiers look ominous last week as they beat the Bulldogs 36-0 although chief playmaker Johnathan Thurston remains in doubt with a hamstring strain.

“I know there are rumours about JT playing or not but we will definitely train as though he is,” Blair said.

“It will definitely be a big test for us. Obviously they had a good win last week against the Dogs who are in pretty good form as well.

“We are really looking forward to it, I can’t wait to get up there on Thursday or Friday, get stuck into training and see how we go.”
