Aspiration to be a one-club man played a key part in Cameron Munster’s decision to continue his playing career in Melbourne.

The Club announced on Wednesday that the rising star has agreed to terms on a contract extension that will see him remain in Melbourne until at least the end of 2019.

Be at AAMI Park when we take on the Panthers, Saturday 4 June, 7:30pm.

It is significant news for Storm as Munster has risen to one of the NRL’s most exciting young talents.

Asked about his reasons for continuing his career in purple, the 21-year-old cited some sound parental advice as playing a part in the decision.

“I was talking to Mum about it the other day and she was saying, ‘try and be like Billy, be like Cam and be a one-club man.’ She gave a bit of advice there and hopefully I can be a one-club man,” Munster said.

“I love the culture around this club and I love the boys around it as well.

“I am pretty happy to be staying here, they were the first NRL club to give me an opportunity. I am very grateful for that and I was more than happy to stay down here.”

Munster has played every minute of the 2016 season so far, leading the side in metres and line breaks – he also ranks third and fourth in the NRL in each of those areas.

Just 28 games into his NRL career, there is plenty of improvement left in the developing youngster.

Thankfully Storm fans will have a front row seat to watch it all unfold.
