Craig Bellamy will take another step towards rugby league immortality this weekend when he takes his seat in an NRL coaches box for the 350th time.
It is yet another milestone in a stellar coaching career that has already seen his name well decorated across the game’s history books.
Craig Bellamy’s 350 game has him in eighth spot on the all time coaching list though his winning percentage of 66% is higher than any coach in the top ten.
Currently in his 14th season as Storm coach, Bellamy has taken the Club to 13 finals appearances and five grand finals.
Under his guidance, Storm have finished inside the top four in eight of the last 10 seasons.
It is enough success to give any man cause to sit back in satisfaction but that is not how the mast tactician operates.
“It is nice to get to a milestone but I’m doing the easy bit, sitting up in the box watching,” Bellamy said.
“It has come around pretty quickly to be quite honest but it’s no big deal. It’s been an up and down ride like anything else in life I suppose.
“I certainly wouldn’t be able to remember all the games. There are a few highlights there and a few lowlights as well, that is just part of it and I wouldn’t change too much at all.”
Bellamy signed a new two-year deal before the season, ensuring he will remain at the helm of Storm until at least the end of 2017.
Should he steer Melbourne to a win over the Titans on Sunday, his 232nd overall, he would surpass Ron Wiley and move into outright seventh on the list of most NRL wins as a coach.
