Melbourne Storm have continued their strong record at Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium, defeating the Broncos 15-8 on Thursday night.

The victory sees Melbourne move temporarily into the top four with other results over the weekend to determine the Club’s final ladder position heading into the 2015 finals series.

The Broncos took an early lead courtesy of a penalty goal during the opening stages of the contest before finding rhythm in attack.

Storm held Brisbane out on multiple occasions after the hosts had several chances to extend their lead before transferring from defence to attack to score the evening’s first try.

Kurt Mann found himself on the end of a well constructed play to the left edge, allowing Storm to take the advantage.

Both sides went blow for blow as the half wore with Brisbane levelling the scores as half-time approached. It was Melbourne who had the final say of the opening stanza however, with Will Chambers’ four pointer handing the visitor’s the advantage at the break.

Mann’s second of the evening helped the visitor’s gain the ascendency and open up some breathing space during the second 40 minutes of play as they arrested momentum of the contest.

Trailing by 10 points, Brisbane hit back with a Jack Reed try to keep the contest alive with 15 minutes remaining before Cooper Cronk’s field goal kicked Storm out to a seven point advantage.

As it had done for the majority of the evening, the trademark Storm defence held firm to deny Wayne Bennett’s side from drawing any closer.
