Tigers shut out Bears
Easts Tigers shut out a confident Burleigh Bears outfit on Sunday, running out 24-2 victors at Langlands Park.
The Tigers were boosted by the inclusion of five Storm-listed players including Mahe Fonua, Matt Duffie, Shaun Nona, Christian Welch and Dean Britt.
Running out of the blocks quickly, the hosts secured two back-to-back tries through winger Matt Duffie, who scored a spectacular try off a Brentt Warr kick in the far corner before Tommy Butterfield found the try-line.

A further try from Eddie Tautali, who was expertly set up by Shaun Nona, put the fifth-placed Tigers in a comfortable position despite more than half of the game left to be played.
The Bears scored their lone points of the afternoon through Khan Ahwang, who converted a penalty goal shortly before the main break.
A one-sided victory was secured in the second half when both Butterfield and Tautali earning their second tries of the game.
Butterfield scored a near replica of his first half try, while Tautali was the beneficiary of some astute build up play from late inclusion Mahe Fonua.
