Melbourne Storm forward Slade Griffin will undergo knee surgery after sustaining an anterior cruciate ligament injury to his left knee last Sunday playing for Sunshine Coast Falcons.
Scans have revealed the extent of the 24-year old's injury, in a contact incident 10 minutes into the first half of the Queensland Cup match. Unfortunately the injury will see Griffin miss the 2015 NRL season.
Melbourne Storm Football Director Frank Ponissi confirmed the injury as well as the Club's continued support for Griffin.

"Slade is understandably devastated, as we all are and the Club will continue to support him in every way on and off the field.
"He is a popular person with players and staff, he has shown how resilient and hard working he is and we look forward to welcoming him back in 2016,” Ponissi said.
It’s devastating news for Griffin who tore the anterior cruciate ligament of his right knee during a pre-season match in 2012 and suffered the same injury to his left in April last year playing in the NSW Cup.
