Storm fullback Billy Slater says he and his teammates are ready to hit the ground running in 2015 with just 10 days until the Club's season opener.

Speaking at Melbourne Storm's 2015 Season Launch held at Crown Melbourne, the 31-year old described the group's excitement and enthusiasm for the new year.

"It's a great opportunity to kick-off our season, we're only a week away so it's pretty exciting times for us as players but also everyone involved at the Club," Slater said.

"I think everyone has had enough of training, we've had a couple of trials under our belt.

"I think everyone is looking forward to the start of the season."

Slater said 2014's conclusion to the year had not necessarily provided any extra motivation for Storm in pre-season but he is confident a number of the Club's new recruits can make an impact throughout the new season.

"It was disappointing the way we finished last year, myself personally and us as a group we're always motivated to perform well each year whether we come off a successful year or a disappointing year the motivation is always there," Slater said.

"I've been quite impressed with a number of our new recruits and Greeny (Blake Green) has been one of them.

"I thought he was exceptional last week (in Storm's trial match against the Bulldogs), as was Dale Finucane and Tommy Learoyd-Lahrs, he only got 20 minutes but he certainly made everyone know he was out there."
