Felgate announced as keynote speaker for Women of Storm

One of Australia’s best known media professionals and multi-award-winning journalist Jacqueline Felgate will share her story at the Women of Storm Leadership Luncheon, next month.

The Luncheon will kick off the third season of Women of Storm, an initiative providing a voice and platform to address gender equality, on and off the sporting stage.

Held at the seaside restaurant Encore in St Kilda on Friday, May 31, Women of Storm have assembled an inspiring line-up of guest panellists, alongside keynote speaker Felgate, to discuss the evolution of leadership. Followed by a two-course lunch and an afternoon of networking, this event is not to be missed.

With 20 years’ experience in broadcast, radio and print, Jacqui has become an acclaimed and multi-faceted media professional, boasting achievements such as being the first woman to host the Brownlow Medal count, and a part of the teams covering iconic sporting events such as the AFL Grand Final, Wimbledon and the Beijing Olympic Games.

Beginning her career at Melbourne’s Herald Sun newspaper, Felgate transitioned to appearing as a newsreader for both Nine News and Seven News covering major events including the COVID-19 pandemic, Black Saturday bushfires, federal and state elections and royal visits. She has been awarded two Melbourne Press Club Quill Awards for her reporting.

You may also know Jacqui from her Instagram page @jacquifelgate. During the pandemic, she became a must-follow and has since evolved into a source of information for Victoria.

Currently, Jacqui spends her time as the fill-in host of the top-rating 3AW Breakfast program and can be heard hosting Friday Night Football on 3AW. She also appears weekly on breakfast as the station’s food reviewer, as well as co-hosting “The House of Wellness”. As a popular MC, she has gone on to host events for organisations including the AFL, the Victoria Racing Club, the Melbourne Press Club and UN Women. She is also an ambassador for Off The Track, helping to rehome retired racehorses.

In her downtime, as mum of two girls, Jacqui enjoys spending time with her family, going to the footy, travelling, marathon running and riding her horses with daughters Maddie and Georgia.
