England rugby coach Eddie Jones has credited Storm assistant Jason Ryles with helping to change his side’s defensive mindset.

Ryles has been working alongside Jones as a consultant during the Storm off-season in order to give the English an edge around the ruck.

His influence clearly appears to have had an effect after England easily accounted for the Wallabies 30-6 at Twickenham last week.

The former Storm prop and now premiership-winning assistant has played a key hand in the emergence of the Melbourne pack since joining the Club’s coaching staff in 2016.

Just two years into Ryles’ professional coaching career he is already earning high praise from the other side of the world.

“Absolutely, Jason was important. The style of defence in rugby has shifted again and I wanted him to work on collisions and the disturbance the second man into a tackle can cause,” Jones said.

“Relentless defence is a Storm trademark and that’s what we want.”
