Curtis Scott has been crowned the NSW Under-20s State of the Year at the NSWRL awards on Monday night.

Scott claimed the honour following his impressive performance in the Under-20s Origin showpiece at Suncorp Stadium back in May.

It is a deserved accolade for the 19-year-old who has enjoyed a breakout year in 2017.

After a season-ending injury to Cheyse Blair, Scott has since stepped up to take his opportunity with both hands.

He has played 11 NRL games since Round 15 to cement his spot on Storm's left edge alongside Josh Addo-Carr.

The exciting teenager is relishing the opportunity he has earned so far this season.

"I'm on a massive high now playing a few games at the moment," Scott said.

"I am just trying to playing consistent footy for the Melbourne Storm and hopefully we can keep the momentum going into the Prelim."
