Melbourne Storm U20

The Thunderbolts will be preparing for their last ever game this Sunday.

With the NYC competition coming to an end at the conclusion of this season, Storm’s Under-20s will complete their final chapter at Sunshine Coast Stadium.

Currently sitting in 13th spot with a 9-14 record, finals are out of reach.

That adds to the significance of this weekend with the team determined to make it a day to remember.

“It is a little bit sad that it is the last ever NYC game,” Thunderbolts coach Eric Smith said.

“The players have come to terms with it now and they are really determined to put in a good performance.

“They are disappointed that it is our last game but are really excited to make sure we go out with a performance that they can leave the Storm and the NYC with on a positive note.”

The Thunderbolts have called the Sunshine Coast for the last two years.

To be able to play their last game at home is the perfect way to end what has been an exciting journey.

“It is good that we get to have our last home game ever,” Smith said.

“It is fitting because we have had a lot of really good support up here. Our sponsors and everyone coming to watch us, it is fitting that they get to see our last game and our players getting to play here.

“This has been home for two years so it is going to be a really good occasion for the players.”
