The Falcons did not get the points on Saturday, falling to Norths Devils 10-18 at home.

However there were several encouraging performances from Storm players in the game.

Ryley Jacks responded well to moving back to reserve grade, making all the improvements asked of him by the coaching staff.

“He was really impressive,” Storm development coach Aaron Bellamy said.

“He got some feedback from the NRL coaches on what he needs to work on and he went out and did that.

“He got his hands on the footy, ran a lot and improved his kicking game which is obviously important for a half/five-eighth. He did his job well.”

Tui Kamikamica had 20 hit-ups across 70 minutes in a hard-working performance while Justin Olam was also a handful out wide for Sunshine Coast.

The Papua New Guinean winger ran for around 200 metres and brought the aggression that makes him so dangerous with the football.

“Justin was really strong and direct coming out of his red zone and getting quick play-the-balls for his team,” Bellamy said.

“When he’s got that mentality of being direct, running straight at the line, we all know what he is like carrying the footy.

“He runs hard and he’s fearless so if he couples that with his fast play-the-balls it really gets the team on the front foot early in the set.”

The Falcons now sit in fourth on the Intrust Super Cup ladder and have the bye this weekend.

Norths Devils 18 (Luke Pollock 2, John Palavi tries; Haydan Lipp 3 goals) def Sunshine Coast Falcons 10 (Alex Bishop, Alexander Copelin tries; Khan Ahwang goal) at Sunshine Coast Stadium.
