Robbie Rochow has come to Melbourne determined to prove himself.

The hard-nosed prop played eight games this season for the Rabbitohs before making the decision to return to Melbourne in a mid-season player swap for Dean Britt.

Rochow has donned the purple jersey before, playing two games between 2010-2011 after coming through the Club’s Under-20s system.

In 2012 he made the switch to Newcastle where he established himself in the NRL with 72 games in five seasons.

Now his career has come full circle, pulling on the Storm colours once again as a player that is older, wiser and hungry for opportunity.

“It is six years ago now since I was here so there has been a lot of changes within the group but a lot of the same principals are still here,” Rochow said.

“Hopefully I will get an opportunity later in the year, it is a great Club. The opportunity to be part of that and the players here is a major factor in why players want to play here.

“I am just grateful for the opportunity to be here and hopefully I can learn a lot from the players and coaches”

The 26-year-old is contracted until the end of the current season.

He had his first hit-out last weekend for feeder side Easts Tigers and it was the run he needed, something he hopes to use as a stepping stone into the first grade side soon enough.

“I havn’t played much football recently so to play some minutes was great,” Rochow said.

“They are all great people up there as well. It was a good opportunity to be up there and I will be playing up there this week as well in the bye, I am looking forward to that.”
