Queensland's Johnathan Thurston has been ruled out of Origin 1 next Wednesday night, the QRL confirmed today.
The decision means Storm halfback Cooper Cronk will line-up alongside Broncos playmaker Anthony Milford at Suncorp Stadium next week. It will be the first time Cronk has played alongside Milford in the halves in Origin after partnering Thurston for 13 of the previous 15 matches for Queensland.
“I’m devastated I won’t be playing next week, but the call needed to be made and it’s the right decision for the team,” Thurston said.
