Brodie Croft scored a second half double to help steer Easts Tigers to a 28-16 victory against Tweed Heads Seagulls.
Easts surrendered the first two tries of the game inside the opening eight minutes however two of their own on the stroke of half-time saw them level at the break.
Curtis Scott had a tremendous second half and chewed up plenty of metres, helping Croft steer the visitors to the win.
“Croft went off with a HIA but for a young kid to get rattled quite a bit, he bounced back very well,” Easts coach Scott Sipple said said.
“He is still 19… he is still learning to play against men. They’ve got to be consistently doing the little things right.
“Croft is really learning by steering the ship. He is pretty vocal and calls the shots up here along with Billy Walters. He is confident, he is getting better every week and an NRL recall might come his way through the Origin period.”
Easts will now look to consolidate their place in the Intrust Super Cup top four when they host Souths Logan Magpies this Sunday.
