Melbourne Storm have made it loud and clear that Sam Kasiano would be welcome in a purple jersey next season.

Craig Bellamy believes the powerful prop would be the perfect fit in Melbourne.

Currently under contract until the end of 2018, Kasiano would need to be granted a release to join another club.

However with the Bulldogs having recently signed stars Aaron Woods and Kieran Foran, a salary cap squeeze may see Kasiano become available.

Should that be the case, Storm are more than happy to have a conversation with the 26-year-old.

"Losing Jordan McLean takes a bit of size out of our team so we would love to have Sam in," Bellamy said.

"At the end of the day it is no secret that we are trying to get him. I don't know whether the Bulldogs will want to release him but they've made a couple of big buys so there are going to have to let some guys go. Hopefully Sam is one of them and we can get him here.

"He's got great skills, great size for a big guy and we'd love to see him here in Melbourne.

"From my sources I hear Sam got married in the off season, has had a couple of kids and settled right down, so he'd fit right in with our family atmosphere here."
