There is only so far you can push your luck and the boys from Melbourne are well aware of that.

Slow starts have been an unwanted subplot to Storm’s last three games.

They have managed to overcome them, keeping their unbeaten start to the season in tact, however they know another sluggish start will be costly against Penrith this Saturday night.

“You don’t want to be putting yourself under pressure like we did,” Will Chambers said.

“We didn’t start well at all but the most the important thing is that we start well this week especially against a team like Penrith, who are a team that if you give them as much of an opportunity as we gave Wests, they will really put you to the sword.

“They are a really good side and can score points from anywhere so we will need to be on our game.”

Be there for our next home game at AAMI Park in Round 5, Saturday 1 April at 7:30pm.

On Sunday against Wests Tigers, Storm found themselves training 14-0 after less than half an hour.

Much to blame was the significant amount of dropped ball during that opening part of the game, eventually resulting in the team’s highest error count of the season (14).

“We coughed up so much possession and were just defending our own try line,” Chambers said.

“Eventually we were going to break and Wests broke us a few times.”

“We’ve just got to hold onto the ball, control the ball and go from there.
