Victorian Oneata Schwalger will become the first woman outside of New South Wales and Queensland to represent the Australian All Stars Women's Team on Friday night.

Schwalger is the sister of former All Black John Schwalger and the niece of previous Samoan Rugby Union Captain, Mahonri Schwalger. She has previously represented Australian Women’s Rugby Union Team at the Rugby Union Women’s World Cup.

In 2014, she played in the VRL Women's Tackle Gala Day Program and captained the North Western Victoria Women’s Rugby League Team.

Speaking to melbournestorm.com.au, Schwalger shared her delight after earning selection.

"I'm really really excited," Schwalger said.

"It's a goal I've had of mine to become a dual international.

"Going up this weekend will be huge, I'll be soaking everything up."

In 2015, there will be added opportunities for women participating in Rugby League in Victoria with Women’s 9s being part of the weekly Victorian Rugby League Competition. This will also lead to representative opportunities throughout 2015.
