Storm Coach Craig Bellamy is expecting his side’s match-up with the Raiders on Easter Sunday to be a tough encounter despite back-to-back losses for Canberra.

Canberra will enter the match following consecutive defeats to Penrith and Newcastle, however Bellamy expects it will be a tough test against Ricky Stuart’s men on home soil.

“They’ve got a really good side, Ricky would probably be a bit disappointed that they haven’t got better results this year but from what I have watched they’ve probably been a bit unlucky to be honest,” Bellamy said.

“It always seems to be a really hard game when we play the Raiders.

“Especially with a big pack of forwards and Ricky’s picked five front-rowers in the team.

“You’ve got Papalli, Edwards and Fensom…they’re a really good side.

“They have some real good experience in Campese and young Milford is one of the most exciting players in our game.”

Bellamy will be looking for his team to find some consistency against the Raiders and carry the momentum gained in Round 6 through to the clash at GIO Stadium.

“We are working hard not to be inconsistent,” Bellamy said.

“If we could find that last twenty minutes for longer periods of the game then I’m sure everyone would be a lot more happy than what we have done with our form so far.

“It was nice to get a win like that, hopefully that might be able to lift us up and our form might start improving.

With Storm winger Will Chambers missing the next two matches due to suspension, Bellamy highlighted youngster Mahe Fonua as one potential candidate to fill the role.

“At this stage, he will be there,” Bellamy said.

“He played some good footy for us early and had a little bit of a dip in form but hopefully he has learnt from that and will come back and play strongly for us.”
