The 2013 season for Melbourne Storm’s Harold Matthews under 16 squad is fast approaching. This week Ross Antoniolli’s squad were put through their paces with a gruelling session around the Tan.
The nine round under 16 competition runs from the beginning of February until April and will see Storm face teams from across New South Wales. 2013 will be the first season in which Melbourne are represented in the Harold Matthews competition.
The formation of Melbourne’s inaugural Harold Matthews side provides another crucial element to Storm’s youth development pathway. Now young aspiring Victorian rugby league players have a distinct pathway through which they can develop their game. They can now represent Melbourne Storm at under 16 (Harold Matthews), under 18 (SG Ball) and under 20 (NYC) level.
