Melbourne Storm secured a place in the 2012 NRL Grand Final following a big win over rivals Manly. Putting together a clinical display, Storm controlled the encounter from the first minute of play, with Cooper Cronk devastating in attack.
Melbourne made the most of a nervy start from the visiting Sea Eagles during the first half to quickly open an early advantage. Three ball-handling errors cost Geoff Toovey’s side during the opening stages as a fired-up Melbourne proved clinical in attack.

Widdop’s try saving tackle just short of the hour mark was indicative of Melbourne’s commitment all evening. Under severe pressure with Michael Maguire’s side looking for a way back into the contest, Storm’s defence fought and scrambled, not giving the Rabbitohs an inch.
