Storm fans will not only get to see the presentation of the 2012 Premiership trophy before the match but also get their first look at the boys running around in the all new 2013 home jersey.
With the chance to get their 2013 campaign off to the best possible start, the Round 1 clash with the Dragons could potentially see a number of new recruits play their first games in Storm colours. Junior Sa’u, Junior Moors, Lagi Setu, Kurt Mann and Tim Glasby will all be pressing claims during pre season for a berth in Craig Bellamy’s first 17. As will Melbourne’s NYC promoted quartet of Auva’a, McGahan, Solomona and Tonumaipea. Fan favourite Brett Finch will also be likely to make his much anticipated return to the Melbourne fold against St. George.

Last season, the Dragons toppled Melbourne in the two clubs’ only clash for the year. In the Round 21 contest, in front of a parochial home crowd, St. George handed Melbourne their fifth straight defeat of 2012 courtesy of a 26-18 win. It would be the last time Storm were defeated in 2012.
